Being of Dutch/Swedish origin, but living and working 25+ years in Indonesia and even adapting Indonesian citizenship, has given him a solid understanding and proven track record regarding his grasp of Asian culture, languages and business methods.

Omar is a seasoned entrepreneur who has successfully launched businesses in diverse regions, covering Europe and Southeast Asia. With a rich background in technology, telecommunications, banking, security, and Oil & Gas, he has amassed 19 years of operational experience in Europe, dedicating the remaining years to Southeast Asia.

Syed Abu Bakar bin S Mohsin Almohdzar is currently the Managing Director of the World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation (WIEF Foundation). The Foundation organises business and economic annual forum and other related programs. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and a member of the Chartered Accountants, Malaysia.

He has held various senior positions in Public Listed Companies in Malaysia. He was formerly Managing Director of Tradewinds (M) Bhd, a conglomerate which owns the second largest sugar refining plant and the fifth largest oil palm plantation in Malaysia.

At the same time, he has held the positions of Executive Vice President of the Parent Company, Tradewinds Corp Bhd which owns and operates hotels, township property development, construction, engineering and owner of choice commercial and residential properties in Malaysia and overseas.

He was also Independent Non-Executive Director of Sime Darby Motors, a subsidiary of Sime Darby Berhad which is listed on Bursa Malaysia.

Presently, he is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Gas Malaysia Berhad, listed on Bursa Malaysia.

He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Allied Hotels and Properties Inc which owns and operates hotel in Canada and King George Finance Inc which is in property development in Canada. Both these companies are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
